UPDATE: APRIL 9, 2020
Dear Chapel Family,
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! That’s what we get to celebrate during Easter at The Chapel over these next few days.
The Coronavirus may have forced us to have an empty church building … but this week, we want to focus on the empty tomb! Thank you so much for your continual engagement with us online. We have been incredibly encouraged by all the amazing feedback and continual encouragement that we have received from so many of you.
While we long to be with each of you in person soon, we’ll continue to work hard to do our best to Stay Together While Apart. In this update, you will find a preview for our upcoming two services this week, helpful info to help you partake in our first online communion, a great way to combine free chicken & prayer, more free resources, and ideas for how you can make a difference during this critical time.
Friday, April 10 | 10am
Saturday, April 11 | 5pm
We are looking forward to celebrating Good Friday and Easter together with you next week.
Starting on Friday at 10am, we will look to the cross together; we will fix our eyes on Jesus and take time to remember the details and significance of his death. During that service, we are looking forward to celebrating online communion together with you for the very first time - so, please make sure to have some common elements (bread or crackers / water or juice) available.
Starting on Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9am, we will celebrate Jesus’ resurrection as we ask ourselves: “What if our view of God has been wrong all along?”. Since this is one of the biggest services in the year, you can expect some great surprises, wonderful worship and more.
Please make a point to invite your family and friends to these two special services. As people are wrestling with their own faith and life’s big questions during this crisis, this Easter may be an easy way for them to “go back to church” and join us online.
To make it really easy for you, there are still a variety of ways to watch:
YouTube or search for “The Chapel Sandusky”
RightNow Media (text RIGHTNOW to 419.504.1777 to sign up)

You can also always find an audio version of the current and previous weekend message on your favorite podcast app. Just search for “The Chapel – Sandusky” (or insert your campus).

If this is your first time tuning in with us, please let us know by texting NEW to 419.504.1777 or CLICK HERE to let us know about your experience. If you do, we will make a donation in your honor to benefit our Crisis Fund to assist people with financial needs inside and outside our church walls.
As this crisis continues to increase the needs in our communities, there are a lot of different ways to Help and to Get Help. To keep you up-to-date, please continue to look at our special webpage (CLICK HERE) to find ways to be a blessing to the people around you and in your communities. A special thanks to everyone that is willing to take a risk to volunteer in the different areas in our cities. Because of you, some of the crucial food distributions and assistance programs in our communities can continue to exist and were not shut-down due to lack of help! Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to people in need!
We are also excited to let you know that we have been approached by our friends at Chick-Fil-A to partner together to bless our community during this difficult time. Please help us spread the word and invite anyone that has been affected for this special blessing!
If you have lost your job or are struggling financially during this crisis, we want to help!
Don’t forget: If you have lost your job or are struggling financially during this crisis, we added some great financial resources to help and encourage you. Make sure to check them out. If you need any financial help to pay your bills, please text the word AID to 419.504.1777 to get an application from our benevolence team.
Our Student Ministry and Kids Celebration team continues to work hard behind the scenes to provide you and your entire family with relevant content. Please make sure to keep checking their social media pages for more updates during the week.
We also invite you to check out Easter Jam - a fun, interactive, online experience for families with kids and teenagers of all ages!
Parents, we want to encourage you to continue to have your kids spend some time making a fun and COLORFUL card(s) with a note of thanks or encouragement and drop them in the mail for your local hospital, first-responders or Health Department.
You can find more information on both of these great ways to celebrate Easter with your family on our The Chapel - Kids Celebration social media pages as well as included in their weekly kids email. If you do not currently receive these emails but would like to, please send us the name and age of your child to email@example.com and we’ll add you to the list.
Middle & High School: Please know that there is no special service this week for you as we want all to join us in watching the special Easter and Good Friday services. However, we do want you to take a few moments and watch a special YouTube message from Joe (CLICK HERE) as he helps to shift our focus of thinking on what matters and how you can help during the pandemic.
Thanks to your continual generosity, our ministries, local/global outreach efforts, and entire church family continues to be blessed! It encourages us every time we receive a check in the mail (The Chapel, Attn: Finance Department, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky OH 44870) or see someone give online (CLICK HERE). Please be aware that our Elders approved a doubling of our community outreach/benevolence investments to be able to address some more immediate needs while continually trying to keep expenses to a minimum in other areas.
Thank you for allowing us to make a true impact in our communities, keep our staff employed and to bless those who are struggling due to the current situation.
You can also give directly to our Crisis Fund where currently all gifts will go 100% towards our community relief efforts. All gifts are secure, confidential and tax-deductible.
Check out these ways to stay connected during this time. Join us for drive thru prayer, Facebook Live worship, work on your marriage at home together and more.

Glady, our partners at the Hindu Bible Institute and India Gospel League are both in a position to respond to the rising needs and with the high receptivity of the Gospel in this difficult-to-minister country. Please make sure to in on Pastor Jay’s new 1-minute video series The Chapel – Outreach Facebook page for some great insights.
Prayer & Care: Feeling lost? Alone? Need someone to pray with you? Our prayer team and staff is standing by daily for anyone that needs prayer. Simply send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. All prayer requests are kept confidential. We will even call you back and pray with you over the phone. Just include your phone number and let us know that you want us to reach out to you in this manner.
As the crisis continues, our offices continue to remain closed. Please feel free to still to drop off food and grocery items. Just leave them at the office entrance, and we’ll make sure to collect them. You can also still reach us via phone (419.627.0208) and email (email@example.com)!
Thank you for continually moving one step closer to God and each other through Christ!
